Outdoor Market

Outdoor Market offers a unique setting for guests to get hands-on experience with gear from top brands in the outdoor industry. Guests will have the opportunity to demo bikes, trail running shoes, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and more at the Whitewater Center. During the festival, guests can also participate in group rides, trail runs, clinics, paddle sessions, and yoga practices.

After the ride, Kenny will be hosting a Q&A to talk to other rides about his training program, his world championship experiences, and the mentality behind accomplishing some of his greatest feats such as riding across a 18m slackline 112m above the ground.

MTB Suspension 101

Fun Flow Yoga

Chakra Flow is inspired by the ancient energy system of the Chakras. These 7 energetic wheels are responsible for different physical and mental/emotional attributes in our lives. Injury Prevention for Runners

Full Moon Group Trail Run

Group Road Ride

Explore beyond the Whitewater Center, taking on 31 miles on rural backroads in and around Gaston County. Along the ride, cyclists will charge up Spencer Mountain and knock out a total of 400+ meters in elevation gain. Riders will be split into two groups, A and B, this ride is open to all skill levels. This is a drop ride, helmets are mandatory. A Cue Sheet will be provided or you can download the gpx file here.

SUP Yoga

SUP Yoga offers guests the chance to take their yoga practice to the water atop stand-up paddle boards. SUP Yoga is led by a local certified instructor on flatwater. All guests must register for a SUP Yoga time slot in order to participate in the class.

There will be a $25 SUP Yoga registration fee for non-passholding guests looking to participate. For Annual Pass holders and Day Pass holders there is no charge, but passholders must register for the class to secure a spot. Guests may register online, or at Guest Services and the Kayak Center. Guests bringing their own board will be allowed to take the class at no cost, but are not guaranteed a spot on the anchor system. Day of registration will be available as capacity allows.

Group Hike

NoDa Brewing Run Club

NoDa Brewing Run Club is the run that started the tradition of brewery run clubs in Charlotte. On Sunday October 13th, the run club will be hosting a special edition run at 11:00am on the Whitewater Center trails led by Ambassadors Chris, Darius, and Deb. The NoDa Brewing Run Club meets every Wednesday night at 6:30 and Sundays at noon to run the NoDa NE Neighborhood.

Backpacking the Mountain-to-Sea Trail

The Mountain-to-Sea Trail (MST) is a 1,200-mile state trail that traverses from the Great Smokey Mountains of NC to Jockey’s Ridge on the Outer Banks. The trail features the highest mountain peak and sand dune in the eastern US and winds through 37 counties showcasing North Carolina’s small farms to coastal swamps to barrier islands. In this informational session, Kimberly “Legs” Brookshire, an avid through hiker, will share her experience completing the MST as well as provide insightful tips and pointers for those looking to explore the MST.

Join GU Energy representative Jacob Geisler as he debunks myths around food to energize your body for high endurance competitions. This clinic will cover everything from what to eat during training, how to prepare your body the week of the event, the best ways to energize your body during activity and what to put in your body to help it recover.

Slow Bike World Championships

Bike as slow as humanly possible in order to take the title in this short distance race. Don’t mistake speed for a lack of technique and endurance; should your foot hit the ground or a single pedal spin backwards at any point, it’s an automatic disqualification. The last person to cross the finish line is the winner.

Trail Dogs 101

This intro clinic is designed for adventurers looking to hit the trail with their four-legged friend. Rovercome dog trainer Shannon Burch will go over trail etiquette, health and safety precautions, equipment, and skills for on trail training.
