Time Laps 24 Hour Relay Race

Camaraderie. Camping. Competition. And a whole lot of trail running. Welcome to Time Laps, a 24-hour trail running relay race. Lasso up your friends, create a team, and grind out the miles to gain the most points. The race consists of various laps with weighted point values which means your team’s strategy is just as crucial as your endurance. When your teammate is out running up some mileage, join the party at race HQ, compete in mini-comps for bonus points, or just sit back and enjoy the outdoors. The team with the most points after 24 hours will be crowned winner.

Registration includes a prepared dinner, breakfast, lunch, raffle tickets for unique prizes, campsite fee, finisher’s medal and race t-shirt.

Event Details:

  • Date – Friday, May 8 and Saturday, May 9, 2020
  • Distance
    • Variable distance. Points based on distance/difficulty.
    • Bonus: Numerous opportunities for bonus points throughout the event.
  • Time – 7:00pm – 7:00pm

  • Time Laps: 24 Hour Relay Race is limited to 400 participants on a first register, first serve basis.
  • Recover Brands shirts and optional hoodies are only guaranteed to those that register by May 3
  • Time Laps finisher medals are only guaranteed to teams that register by March 20


Friday, May 17th

  • 3:30pm – Packet pick-up, Team check-in, and Camping set-up begins – Ridge Pavilion
  • 6:00pm – Welcome Dinner begins (included in registration fee)
  • 6:00pm – Mandatory pre-race meeting with all team captains
  • 6:30pm – Packet pick-up and Team check-in ends
  • 7:00pm – Time Laps 24 Hour Relay Race begins
  • 8:00pm – Welcome Dinner ends

Saturday, May 18th

  • 7:00am – Breakfast begins (included in registration fee)
  • 9:00am – Breakfast ends
  • 12:00pm – Lunch begins (included in registration fee)
  • 2:00pm – Lunch ends
  • 7:00pm – Time Laps 24 Hour Relay Race ends
  • 7:00pm – Post-Race party, awards and River Jam concert begins
  • 8:15pm – Team campsites must be cleaned up and cleared out

  • All participants will receive a unique Time Laps finisher’s medal upon completion (medals are only guaranteed to teams that register by March 20)
  • Awards will be given to top 3 teams in each division (solo, 6 and under, 12 and under)

  • Waiver Policy
    • All participants must sign the USNWC waiver before participating
  • Refund and Transfer Policy
    • Race Registration is non-refundable
    • A 100% registration transfer must be requested 2 months (or more) in advance of race day via racedirector@usnwc.org
    • A 50% registration transfer must be requested 1 month (or more) in advance of race day via racedirector@usnwc.org
    • Registration transfers are only applicable to the same race the following year
  • Forgotten Add-On Gear
    • All purchased add-on gear must be collected during packet pick-up
    • Items will not be shipped
    • If items are unable to be picked up during packet pick-up, you must arrange pick-up with racedirector@usnwc.org and collect from Outfitters within one week from event date
    • The race director will not email you to arrange your pick-up
    • All unclaimed items will be donated
    • Typical parking fees apply
  • Forgotten Awards
    • Participants not present for awards may collect their award from Outfitters within two months of the race date
    • Items will not be shipped

  • Trail Safety
    • Trails will be open to other runners, hikers and bikers
    • Headphones, iPods, MP3 players, etc are strongly discouraged
    • Remain attentive and courteous at all times
    • No pets allowed on the course
  • Race Bibs
    • Race bib must be visible and worn on the front of shirt to receive an accurate time
  • Aid Stations
    • See Course Map for water/electrolyte stop locations
    • Plan accordingly if you think you may require additional hydration during race
  • Weather Policy
    • Event will proceed rain or shine unless conditions are deemed unsafe by the Race Director. Any changes will be communicated via email by the Race Director
  • Parking Policy
    • All guests are required to pay a $6 parking fee at the USNWC unless guest has an annual parking pass. Annual parking passes are available through the USNWC for $50
  • Emergency Policy
    • The USNWC does not conduct trail rescues in the event of an emergency. Participants must call 911 if emergency vehicles and operations are needed. There are 911 trail location markers to communicate where emergency personnel can find you
