Battle Royale SUP Sprint

Battle Royale is a head-to-head SUP Sprint on the lower pond of the USNWC. The sights and sounds of the USNWC’s Fourth of July Celebration will provide the backdrop as participants navigate various buoys and currents in a tournament style bracket.  This beginner friendly race (race registration includes the Stand-up Paddleboard and all equipment needed) is a perfect opportunity to add some friendly competition into the holiday weekend. Please note that participants will not be allowed to utilize their own personal boards.

Event Details:

  • Date – Thursday July 4, 2019
  • Format – Heat-based tournament style competition
    • Participants will race until a champion is crowned
  • Time – 5:00pm
  • Note: Battle Royale SUP Sprint Takes place in the lower pond of the whitewater channels and some of the race will happen in slight current


  • Pre-Registration – Must register by July 2
    • $20
  • Race-Day Registration – if available
    • $25
  • Note: The Race/Tournament format is based on number of participants.
  • Note: All necessary equipment is included in the registration fee
    • Participants can bring their own paddle, helmet and inherently buoyant PFD
    • Participants cannot bring their own SUP boards


  • 4:00pm – Battle Royale Packet Pick-up and Race Day registration begins
  • 4:45pm – Battle Royale Packet Pick-up and Race Day registration ends
  • 5:00pm – Battle Royale SUP Sprint begins
  • TBD – Battle Royale SUP Sprint Awards


Awards will be given to the top 3 male/female finishers

  • Waiver Policy
    • All participants must sign the USNWC waiver before participating
  • Refund and Transfer Policy
    • Race Registration is non-refundable
    • A 100% registration transfer must be requested 2 months (or more) in advance of race day via
    • A 50% registration transfer must be requested 1 month (or more) in advance of race day via
    • Registration transfers are only applicable to the same race the following year
  • Forgotten Add-On Gear
    • All purchased add-on gear must be collected during packet pick-up
    • Items will not be shipped
    • If items are unable to be picked up during packet pick-up, you must arrange pick-up with and collect from Outfitters within one week from event date
    • The race director will not email you to arrange your pick-up
    • All unclaimed items will be donated
    • Typical parking fees apply
  • Forgotten Awards
    • Participants not present for awards may collect their award from Outfitters within two months of the race date
    • Items will not be shipped

  • Trail Safety
    • Trails will be open to other runners, hikers and bikers
    • Headphones, iPods, MP3 players, etc are strongly discouraged
    • Remain attentive and courteous at all times
    • No pets allowed on the course
  • Race Bibs
    • Race bib must be visible and worn on the front of shirt to receive an accurate time
  • Aid Stations
    • See Course Map for water/electrolyte stop locations
    • Plan accordingly if you think you may require additional hydration during race
  • Weather Policy
    • Event will proceed rain or shine unless conditions are deemed unsafe by the Race Director. Any changes will be communicated via email by the Race Director
  • Parking Policy
    • All guests are required to pay a $6 parking fee at the USNWC unless guest has an annual parking pass. Annual parking passes are available through the USNWC for $50
  • Emergency Policy
    • The USNWC does not conduct trail rescues in the event of an emergency. Participants must call 911 if emergency vehicles and operations are needed. There are 911 trail location markers to communicate where emergency personnel can find you
