Team Development

The USNWC Team Development program provides challenging and educational experiences that target personal character development of individuals as well as their professional growth within their company or team. With a focus on communication and leadership skills, our coordinators will collaborate with you to evaluate and create a program that supports your specific objectives. We utilize every resource the USNWC has to offer—aerial ropes courses, whitewater rafting, climbing, flatwater kayaking, challenge courses and much more to provide innovative programs. You can also add activity passes, meeting space and catering to any experience. For more information, complete our Group Outings Form or call 704-391-3900.

Low & High Challenge Course

For a more intense team building option, choose our Low and High Challenge Course. In addition to completing a variety of low elements, groups will harness up and tackle our 32 foot high team-focused high ropes course. Most programs vary from 4 to 7 hours.

Low Challenge Course

Nestled in the 1,300 acres alongside the Catawba River, our low challenge activities accommodate groups from 10 to 300+. Facilitator led, team building programs are specifically constructed to meet the needs and goals of each group. Programs vary in length from two to eight hours. Groups can customize their experience using various low challenge course activities.

Adventure Race

Looking for competition and camaraderie? Choose our Adventure Race event. Teams receive scorecards, which have our pass activities rated by challenge level. Strategy may come into play as teams navigate USNWC property to earn the most points and declare victory.

Team Edition

Seeking a team bonding adventure on the water and land? Our Team Edition program includes the Day Pass activities – zip lines, jumps, ropes courses, rafting, and more. A USNWC guide assists your team with efficiently navigating the facility. This shared experience emphasizes team camaraderie as well as individual challenge.

Customizable Team Development

Want to take an innovative approach and step beyond the traditional experiential education? The USNWC has a wealth of resources to leverage and create an intentional program that supports your objectives.

With our meeting spaces, outdoor dining locations, and catering options, we are an ideal choice for your all day or multiple event.

Wilderness Survival Challenge

This entry-level course provides the principles, skills, and basic understanding of how to survive in a woodland environment. An introduction to signaling, shelter, fire building, and other vital information will give your team the necessary skills to compete in the wilderness survival team challenge that is tailored to meet the needs of your group.

Traveling Team Challenge

Short on time or can’t make it out to the USNWC? We can bring the challenge course program to your location of choice. Activities can range from easy to challenging. Let us know your needs and we will customize the experience.

Canopy Tour

Explore the woodlands along the Catawba River and portions of the historic Tuckaseegee Ford Trail. On this private tour, your group participates in a guided experience through the tree canopy traveling from platform to platform on a series of zips, sky bridges, and rappels.

Raft & Zip Tour

When your group selects this combination event, they are experiencing two premiere USNWC guided activities. This pass includes a 1.5 – 2 hour guided zip tour and 1.5 hour guided whitewater rafting trip. Each activity has a reserved time slot, so your group can plan your day around meetings, a catered meal, or a visit to River’s Edge.
