Intro to Kayaking Lesson

Learning to whitewater kayak for the first time? The Intro to Kayaking Lesson equips first-time paddlers with the knowledge, techniques, and skills necessary to paddle whitewater. Working with our professional instructors, students will learn the essential skills of boat control, ferrying, downriver progression, and more as they are introduced to the world of whitewater kayaking.

Instructor ratio: 3 students to 1 instructor

Duration: 1.5 hours

Kayak Roll Lesson

After progressing through the skills taught in the Intro to Kayaking Lesson, the next step is to harness the power of an effective roll. Kayak Roll Lessons teach paddlers the techniques necessary to roll in both calm and dynamic environments. During the class, instructors walk each student through the physical and mental aspects of the roll ensuring that they understand the techniques and are able to execute them.

Instructor ratio: 3 students to 1 instructor

Skill prerequisites: Intro to Kayaking Lesson or Package, or basic whitewater kayaking experience

Duration: 1.5 hours

Perfecting the Flatwater Roll

Specifically focused on making your roll more reliable, this class is designed to dial in your rolling technique. Whether you’re struggling to hit your first roll or are stuck at a 50/50 success rate, instructors will work with you to diagnose the issue and develop a plan to help you fix it.

Instructor ratio: 4 students to 1 instructor

Skill prerequisites: Must have previous experience rolling a whitewater kayak

Duration: Saturdays 10:30am – 12:30pm

Price: $35

Private Lesson

Private lessons offer participants an individualized approach to skill-based instruction and progression at the beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. Participants work one-on-one with an instructor to master the techniques necessary for a variety of whitewater kayaking disciplines including creeking, river running, and freestyle.

Instructor ratio: 1 student to 1 instructor

Skill prerequisites: None

Duration: 1.5 hours, 4 hours, or Full Day

Price: $80/$64 with Annual Pass (1.5 hours); $170/$136 with Annual Pass (4 hours); $300/$240 with Annual Pass (Full Day)

Fundamental Focus Lesson


Take your paddling skills to the next level with this detail-oriented lesson, focused on perfecting fundamentals and dialing in specific techniques. Fundamental Focus lessons target a specific topic each week and are taught in a non-intimidating class II environment ensuring you can focus on the skill at hand.

Instructor ratio: 4 students to 1 instructor

Skill prerequisites: Intro to Kayaking Lesson or Package, or basic whitewater kayaking experience

Duration: Saturdays 10:30am – 12:30pm
