200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training

Accelerate your learning and expand your knowledge with the Yoga Teacher Training program at the Whitewater Center, in conjunction with Chakra Flow University. Dive deep into the poses, philosophies, and practices behind yoga, whether your goal is to become a certified yoga teacher or a well-versed yogi as you take the next step in your yoga journey. This program is a unique 200-hour RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) training that couples the traditional curriculum with elective activities like SUP Yoga, hands-on experience, and a combination of classroom settings and natural environments at the Whitewater Center.

This 200-hour training program is registered by Yoga Alliance and meets or exceeds Yoga Alliance standards. It will prepare participants to instruct classes typically offered to the general adult population. The full program must be completed in order to receive your 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certification. Students who complete this training will be eligible to register as RYT 200 with Yoga Alliance.

The course provides 200-hour YTT training, one Whitewater Center annual parking pass, a comprehensive training workbook, and access to yoga blocks, blankets, bolsters, and straps.

  • Art of Vinyasa Flow Sequencing
  • Asana
  • Yoga Philosophy
  • Alignment and Anatomy
  • Ayurveda (The sister science of Yoga)
  • The Chakra System
  • Intro to Sanskrit
  • Hands-on Assists
  • Pranayama
  • Practice Teaching

Join us for an informational open house on Yoga Teacher Training August 8. Led by YTT Director, Victoria Martinez of Chakra Flow University, the session provides the opportunity to learn more, converse, and ask questions about becoming a certified yoga instructor and Whitewater’s new 200-Hour YTT program. The session follows the 6:30pm yoga practice and will be held on Whitewater’s private terrace overlooking the facility and live music from the River Jam stage. There will be a private cash bar. This information session is free to attend and does not require registration.

INSTRUCTION TEAM

The YTT Instruction Team includes Victoria E Martinez  (YTT Director), Tamara & Andy TotmanMarcy Braverman GoldsteinTai DornJennifer Busco, and Jaclyn Groff.

In addition to the above, several other guest teachers will be invited during the program to share their expertise with the class to bring together the very best teachers in their respective fields and specializations the Carolinas have to offer.

About Victoria Martinez

Victoria Martinez is owner and founder of Chakra Flow University. She gained her 500-hour YTT from world renowned yoga center Laughing Lotus NYC directed by Dana Trixie Flynn. Victoria has also received certifications and qualifications from Laughing Lotus NYC in Restorative Yoga, Super Sequencing, Hands on Assists, Chakras Intensive, Energy & the Subtle Body Intensive, Inversion Intensive, and her Ayurveda 100-hour in addition to being a certified personal trainer from National Academy of Sports Medicine. Victoria teaches at Bijou 5 Yoga, Carolina Yoga, OKRA, and Vinyasa Arts, as well as, every Thursday evening at 6:30pm during Whitewater Yoga. Victoria’s mission and passion lay in the ability to share these ancient practices and sciences with her students and to empower them to gain optimal health and well-being.

Attendance at every class is required for certification. There are no make up dates.

200-hour YTT students are also invited to join the Whitewater Center’s 3-day SUP YTT course in collaboration with Mind, Body, Paddle on September 27 – 29. This training, led by Anna Levesque, is for yogis who already hold their 200-hour RYT with Yoga Alliance, or are currently enrolled in the Whitewater 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT), and are seeking to become a certified SUP yoga instructor. The course will allow participants to develop their skills on a paddleboard, elevate their personal practice, and broaden the variety of classes they are able to teach.

Application and Tuition

Yoga Teacher Training Tuition Pricing – $2,800

Option 1: Full payments can be made by clicking the application link below, over the phone (704.391.3900) or in person.

Option 2: A deposit of $500 can be made over the phone (704.391.3900) or in person. Deposits are accepted until August 1 and are nonrefundable. Only full payments will be accepted after August 1. Balances are due in full by August 16.

Option 3: Payment plans are available for special circumstances. Please email yoga@usnwc.org if you require a plan. Full tuition is due by October 1, 2019. If you choose to do a payment plan, the full tuition must be paid in order to receive certification.

Participants are responsible for securing their own food and lodging.
