Whitewater Film Series – Mountainfilm on Tour

Mountainfilm on Tour brings a selection of culturally rich, adventure-packed and incredibly inspiring documentary films curated from the Mountainfilm festival held every Memorial Day weekend in Telluride, Colorado. The tour will visit the U.S. National Whitewater Center with films that will explore the themes connected to Mountainfilm’s mission: using the power of film, art and ideas to inspire audiences to create a better world.

Lights. Camera. Adventure. The U.S. National Whitewater Center is proud to host the 2019 Whitewater Film Series featuring a variety of outdoor feature-length films from across the globe. Viewers will have a chance to experience the active, outdoor lifestyle from the perspectives of those living it to the fullest. The Whitewater Film Series takes place on Friday evenings at sunset in April and October.

Outdoor Market

Outdoor Market offers a unique setting for guests to get hands-on experience with gear from top brands in the outdoor industry. Over three days, this festival offers guests the opportunity to demo bikes, trail running shoes, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, climbing gear and more throughout the 1,300 acre facility at the U.S. National Whitewater Center. During the festival, guests can also participate in group rides, runs and paddles, as well as yoga practices and educational, participatory, and tech clinics. Opportunities to unwind from the festival’s active nature include craft beer, food, and films.

Hours of Operation

When are we open?

  • Our main gate and trails are open, weather permitting, 365 days a year.
  • The availability of our activities and related operating hours vary with the seasons. Day-of activity availability is accessed through the Activity Schedule; other daily hours of operation, such as food and beverage, can be found on the Calendar.
  • Operating hours can be added or extended for groups and events. For more information, please call our Group and Event Planners at 704.391.3900 or submit an inquiry on the Groups page.
  • All activity availability, schedules and hours are subject to change without notice.

What activities will be open when I visit?

  • Due to the seasonality of the USNWC, activities will be limited in their availability, particularly in the months after Labor Day and before Memorial Day.
  • Because the timing and availability of our activities can change from day to day, the Activity Schedule is the best resource for day-of activity information.
  • Activity lines may close prior to pass hours.

  • In the event of adverse weather, some or all activities may not be available.
