DYNOMITE Bouldering Competition

Grab your gear and climb-on in the 5th annual DYNOMITE bouldering competition at the USNWC Climbing Center, featuring bouldering problems for all skill levels. Competitors will vie for title in either the Citizen’s or USAClimbing sanctioned competition. Competitors wishing to compete in the USAC event need to submit for sanctioning early in 2017.

Event Details:

  • Date – Saturday, September 23, 2017
  • Time – 11:00 a.m. – USA Climbing Competition
  • Time – 4:00 p.m. – Citizen’s Bouldering Competition

    • $40
  • Competition Day registration – if available
    • $50
  • *Note: Recover Brand Competition shirts are only guaranteed to those who pre-register by September 17th
  • *Note: Participants are responsible for bringing their own crash pads
  • *Note: Per USA Climbing policy found HERE, a USA Climbing membership is required for this sanctioned competition. A USA Climbing Day-Member Pass can be purchased for a fee of $10 on the day of the competition if needed.

Citizen’s Bouldering Competition

  • Pre-registration – Must register by September 22
    • $35
  • Competition Day registration – if available
    • $45

  • *Note: Participants are responsible for bringing their own crash pads
  • *Note: This competition does not count towards USA Climbing standings

  • Participants are responsible for bringing their own crash pads for these competitions

  • Whitewater Race Series Refund and Transfer Policy:
    • Race Registration is non-refundable
    • A 100% registration transfer may be requested 2 months (or more) in advance of race day via racedirector@usnwc.org
    • A 50% registration transfer may  be requested 1 month (or more) in advance of race day via racedirector@usnwc.org
    • Registration transfers are only applicable to the same race the following year
  • All participants must sign the USNWC waiver before participating
  • Participants must be present to accept awards. Awards will not be mailed
  • Locker rooms are located at the main USNWC River Center
  • Event will proceed rain or shine unless conditions are deemed unsafe by Competition Staff
  • All guests are required to pay a $5 parking fee at the USNWC unless guest has an annual parking pass. Annual parking passes are available through the USNWC for $40
  • Headphones, iPods, MP3 players, etc are illegal for the safety of all participants

    Will the rock walls be closed to people not competing? I’m visiting Charlotte for the weekend and wanted to try this activity. Wanted to see if I could do it Saturday.

    Hey guys,

    my name is Johannes and I am a student from Germany who lives for the next 5 month in Charlotte for an internship.

    I live in Germany in the area of Franken Jura and love climbing and bouldering.
    My skill level ends at the moment by 5.11a or b.

    Is this boulder or climbing competiton for all skill levels and everybody is welome, or more for better climber.

    I am interested in competing in this competition but I have never done it before. I am assuming the citizens competition is the one I want to sign up for but I just wanted to make sure. Also how does determining which level to enter work?
