The registration process for these runs is unclear to me. This page mentions a non-refundable registration fee and a waiver, but no details. Is this a free event? Also, what is the protocol for participating? The WWC is a big place–where would I go to register?

    • usnwcadmin August 31, 2016 at 11:36 am

Hi Mary, there is no registration process for River Jam Run; this is a free weekly meetup at 6:30 PM outside of the Trail Center prior to River Jam. You are reading Whitewater Race Series parameters that are included on this page but no registration is required for this event.

double-checking that we can use the showers/locker rooms after the River Jam run? Can we bring a lock?
Also, is the course pretty hilly, and what is the terrain?

    • Jimmy Lawler August 3, 2016 at 1:57 pm

      Hey Carol,
You may use the showers/lock rooms whenever you’d like, and you may bring a lock.
The course varies in elevation with some hills. The terrain is mostly compact dirt with some gravel.

i see the trails are closed today (June 30). Does that mean there will no river jam run tonight, or is there a possibility that the trails will re-open, or a modified course will be created?

    • usnwcadmin June 30, 2016 at 11:51 am

Hey Brian, even though trails are currently closed we always proceed with River Jam Run on Thursday evenings since this is a USNWC-organized group run.

Prior to River Jam would we be able to tour the grounds? would that cost extra? Are young people allowed (youngest is 7 year old boy)?

    • usnwcadmin June 25, 2016 at 5:33 pm

Hey B.J., you are more than welcome to come walk around and explore the facility and no purchase is required. We do, however, have a $5 per vehicle parking fee. The USNWC is open to all ages.

Is the free trail run available also every second Thursday of the month if you don’t want to participate in the race? If so, what time?

    • usnwcadmin June 8, 2016 at 9:55 am

Hey Wendy, River Jam Run takes place every Thursday at 6:30 PM and leaves from the Trail Center.
