Memorial Day Trail Race

Kick off the Memorial Day weekend festivities with a 5-mile or 8-mile trail race through the USNWC trail system. Hang around after the race for a day of live music, food, drinks and fireworks over our man-made whitewater river during the USNWC’s Memorial Day Celebration.

Event Details:

  • Date – Sunday, May 24, 2015
  • Distance – 5-mile and 8-mile
  • Time – 9:00 a.m. (BOTH distances)

Registration:

  • Pre-Registration – Must register by May 21
    • $30 (Either Distance)
  • Race-Day Registration – if available
    • $37 (Either Distance)
  • *Note: Recover brands shirts are only guaranteed to those who pre-register by May 17

Schedule:

Friday, May 22

  • 5:00-7:00pm – Packet pick-up at NoDa Brewing Company
  • *Note: We encourage pre-registered runners to participate in the early packet pick-up to decrease race day lines
  • *Note: “Race Day Registration” will be available during packet pick up
  • *Note: Registrants 21+ will receive a frosty treat at Friday night packet pick up

Sunday, May 25

  • 7:30am – Race day registration and packet pick-up begins
  • 8:30am – Race day registration and packet pick-up ends
  • 9:00am – Memorial Day Trail Race begins
  • 10:15am – 5-mile awards ceremony
  • Time TBD – 8-mile awards ceremony
  • 11:30am – Course closes (runners may finish the course however official times may not be recorded)

Post-Race:

Be sure to stick around for food, drinks, raffle prizes, awards and the USNWC’s Memorial Day Festival.

Awards:

Awards will be given to the top three male/female finishers in the following age groups:

14-under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-better.

Additional Event Info:

  • Interested in volunteering? Please contact the Race Director at racedirector@usnwc.org.
  • All participants must sign the USNWC waiver before participating
  • Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable
  • There will be a gear/bag drop at the start/finish for this race
  • All participants are required to wear a headlamp until the sun rises (projected 7:30 a.m.)
  • Race bib must be visible and worn on the front of shirt/shorts to receive an accurate time
  • See Course Map for aid station locations
  • Participants must be present to accept awards. Awards will not be mailed
  • Locker rooms and shower facilities are located at the main USNWC River Center
  • Event will proceed rain or shine unless conditions are deemed unsafe by the Race Director
  • All guests are required to pay a $5 parking fee at the USNWC unless guest has an annual parking pass. Annual parking passes are available through the USNWC for $40
  • Headphones, iPods, MP3 players, etc are discouraged for the safety of all participants
  • Remain attentive and courteous at all times, trails will be open to other runners, hikers and bikers
  • No pets allowed on the course
  • The USNWC does not conduct trail rescues in the event of an emergency. Participants are encouraged to call 911 THEN notify event staff if an emergency is encountered
