One of the major advantages of paddling at the USNWC is the consistency of quality rapids and limited amount of flatwater. Paddlers with whitewater kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and gear can enjoy our whitewater channels nine months out of the year. Considering the inherent risk, all paddlers should have previous experience in Class III whitewater, and kayakers should be able to perform a reliable combat roll.
Paddlers must provide their own boat, helmet, paddle, spray skirt, and personal flotation device. Professional whitewater kayaking instruction is available.
