Trail Running/Hiking

Enjoy a walk, hike, or run as you explore over 20 miles of woodland trails extending along the Catawba River. Trails are shared with mountain bikers and vary in difficulty, but all ages and abilities are welcome. Trails may be inaccessible during inclement weather, maintenance, or scheduled events (trail status indicated at the bottom of any webpage or on Twitter: @usnwctrails). Leashed dogs are always welcome, but please remember to clean up after your pets.

Mountain Biking

The USNWC is home to over 20 miles of trails, featuring challenging climbs and descents for riders of all ages and abilities. Mountain bikers share the trails with hikers and runners. Trails are graded according to difficulty, and may be inaccessible during inclement weather, trail maintenance, or scheduled events (trail status indicated at the bottom of any webpage or on Twitter: @usnwctrails). Helmets and mountain bikes designed for steep single-track terrain are required for all riders.
