Spend the day outside, get some fresh air and enjoy a walk, hike, bike or run in Charlotte’s most scenic woodland setting. The USNWC has over 20 miles of trails that extend along the Catawba River and around small ponds and lake vistas.
All ages and abilities are welcome on the trails. As always, leashed dogs are also welcome, but please don’t forget to clean up after your pets. The main trail head and trail information kiosk is located in the back of the USNWC parking lot.
The trails are shared by hikers, runners and mountain bikers and their difficulty levels are graded by color:
Trails may be inaccessible at times due to inclement weather, trail maintenance or scheduled events. Please remember to check the trail status prior to your visit or call us at 704.391.3900 ext. 1.
Grab your friends and your running shoes for a quick pre-River Jam trail run at the U.S. National Whitewater Center. Every Thursday, May through September, we invite runners of all ages and skill levels to come together as a group to run through the USNWC trail system before enjoying our live River Jam show. Details can be found here.
