Questions / Comments

  1. Justin Addison January 17, 2013 at 8:24 am

I find it curious that you would discourage older participants by stopping age groups at 46+, since these are the folks who actually benefit most from having age divisions. Why have age groups at all? Many in their low 40s can compete quite well with those in their upper 20s – not so with older groups where every 5 years bring very noticeable drops in performance.

    • USNWC January 21, 2013 at 11:21 am

Hi Justin, thanks for the feedback. Please know that we are not trying to discourage anyone from participating, we are trying to accommodate the expected race participant numbers as efficiently as possible.

  2. Ken Coppola March 18, 2013 at 7:31 pm

I was wondering if they will limit the number of racers this time. I ran the Color Me Run and it should have been capped.

    • USNWC March 25, 2013 at 9:14 am

Hi Ken, we will not have a limit on the Memorial Day Trail Race, but we will implement various crowd management tactics if the numbers near the level of Color Me Green.

  3. Brandi March 20, 2013 at 3:41 pm

Is there/will there be more information provided about the course (route, water stations, spectator locations (if any))?

    • USNWC March 21, 2013 at 9:14 am

Hi Brandi, we are putting together this course map and will post it as soon as it is complete.

  4. Cathy Marlowe April 29, 2013 at 7:24 pm

Is this a paved trail like Tobacco Road? or is this a dirt/natural trail?

    • USNWC April 30, 2013 at 4:45 pm

Hey Cathy, our trails are natural trails.

  5. Chance April 30, 2013 at 3:24 pm

I was wondering if there will be any bigger shirts available? Xl is the biggest I see and I am 6’9” and cant fit that. I was wondering what the possibilitys would be for a 2xl. Thanks

    • USNWC May 8, 2013 at 11:08 am

Hi Chance, unfortunately the largest shirt that we offer for this is XL.

  6. Cameron Kiger May 2, 2013 at 5:44 pm

Do we get T-shirts for the race or a medal of some sort?

    • USNWC May 7, 2013 at 11:24 am

Hi Cameron, pre-registered participants will receive a Whitewater Race Series t-shirt.

  7. Connie May 8, 2013 at 9:33 am

Hey, Just wondered if the events after the race the 26 are limited to the racer or can people come for just the other events and do a zip line?
    Thanks,

    • USNWC May 9, 2013 at 9:03 am

Hi Connie, aside from the trail races, all festival events during the Memorial Day Celebration are free and open to the public. Our normal pass activities will be available for those interested in purchasing a pass.

  8. Eric May 8, 2013 at 12:58 pm

Does race entail both running and biking divisions or only running?

    • USNWC May 8, 2013 at 1:54 pm

Hey Eric, the Memorial Day Trail Race is running only.

  9. John May 11, 2013 at 7:43 am

Hey John, we do not offer any military discounts.

  10. Marcel Solomon May 14, 2013 at 9:46 am
