Learning to kayak? A Whitewater Clinic is the place to start. Whether you are looking to get into a boat for the first time or brush up on your roll after the winter, we have a group clinic that will suit your needs. First time paddlers are encouraged to start with the Kayak Sampler. This course introduces you to the equipment used in whitewater kayaking, the fundamental skills, river reading, and basic self-rescue. After the Kayak Sampler, students can move on to the Kayak Roll clinic to begin mastering the essential skill of rolling. All kayaking specific equipment is provided by the Kayak Center.
The Winter Skill Clinic is a 2 hour Saturday clinic from 12 pm – 2 pm designed to help you master the fundamentals of whitewater kayaking in a controlled, flatwater environment. You must have taken the Kayak Sampler Clinic or equivalent to partake in this course. Essential kayaking equipment will be provided by the USNWC Kayak Center, but students are required to provide their own gear necessary for the elements.
