Is there a fee to use the trails?
No, there are no additional trail fees once the $5 parking fee is paid at the entrance gate.

Why are trail closure decisions made at 10:00am?
Moisture following a rain event and dew may be present on the trail surface the next morning. Just 2 hours of sun on the trails can help dry the surface preparing it for traffic. When possible we will open the trails prior to 10:00am.
Can I still hike or run if the trails are closed?
No. Trails are closed to all traffic. The more we all stay off the trail the better it can rebound and we can all get back to fun on the trails.
Do you close the trails for safety reasons?
While a clay surface is extremely slippery when wet, we close the trails more for the health of the trails vs. safety reasons. This is the most sustainable way to operate trails with a high use pattern. A wet trail surface can be present in some locations even during open status.
The trails were closed, but I saw others accessing the trails, what should I do?
Feel free to approach, in a friendly way, those who are not following closures. Simply state that closed is "closed to all" users and that if we all stay off and give the trails a chance to dry up we can all get back to fun on the trails. Traffic during wet conditions creates muddy mixtures on the trail, slowing down the dry time, and creating greater maintenance issues.
