Hi Beau, we're excited that your trying new things. A Cyclocross race is a multiple lap trail race with manufactured obstacles that might require you to carry your bike for a distance.

Cyclocross is a specific type of bike race. A cyclocross bike is like a road bike with offroad capability. The races are usually on a shorter course with some obstacles etc. that requires the rider to dismount and carry the bike for some distances at various points through the race. Cycling and running are required, but no watersport involved.

What is the course length on the cyclocross? Run / Bike length?

    • USNWC November 6, 2012 at 2:22 pm

Hi Larry, the Cyclocross is a lap-based course, meaning your score will be based on how many laps you can complete in one hour. The full course (one lap) will be on Hawk Island so there will be a good mix of both running and riding.
