“Raft Girl” Julie Bohm
Position: Raft Guide
Birthday: May 5, 1981
Hometown: New York, NY
College: The University of North Carolina at Wilmington
About: Julie Bohm is known around the USNWC as the guide who wants to take on the nervous rafters and beginner groups. Her perfect rafting guest would be someone who is terrified to go on the water. She loves breaking that barrier and helping the guest overcome their fears and have a great experience. A self proclaimed “raft girl,” Julie is a rather unique guide. Born and raised in New York, she embraced the idea of the outdoorsy lifestyle which was completely opposite from growing up in the city. When not guiding rafts down the river, you can find Julie helping run Patchwerk Playhaus, a live performance theater in Charlotte which she co-owns.

Myself, my sister, stepmother and brother were all newbies to the rafting experience, and at least three of us are pretty mediocre swimmers so yeah, we were a bit nervous stepping into the raft. But Julie volunteered to take the boatful of "people who are just along for the ride, snapping photos of the crazy people" out onto the waves and we had a great time! She gave clear directions, eased us up onto the higher class waves, checked in periodically to make sure everyone was still okay and good times were had by all.
Thanks Casandra! Glad you had such a great time on our wonderful little river! Hope to see you all out there again sometime!!
We had a bachelor party outing at the WWC this past weekend. "Raft Girl" was our guide. It was such an adrenaline rush out on the water. A time that I will not forget. Planning another trip with the guys closer to the wedding and we will definitely request Julie. JAMES BROWN, JAMES BROWN!!!!!!
